What is ECCIRA?
The Eastern Caribbean Citizenship by Investment Regulatory Authority, which the five countries agreed to create in September 2025. It is expected to begin operations around September 2026. Planned measures include a 30-day stay in the first five years, biometrics, escrow and a shared refusal database. Timing may change.
Do Caribbean passports give visa-free access to the US and UK?
None gives visa-free travel to the US. From 1 January 2026 US visitor visas for Dominica and Antigua and Barbuda nationals are limited to three months and a single entry. Dominica nationals have needed a UK visa since July 2023 and St Lucia nationals since 5 March 2026.
