The calculator covers 14 programmes. For each route it takes the minimum investment or donation for your family size, then adds the per-person government, processing and due diligence fees stated in our guides. Spouses, children and adult dependants are priced using the categories each guide gives.
Charges that our guides give only as ranges or percentages, such as legal fees and property taxes, are listed separately and kept out of the total. Anything our guides do not state is shown as not included so you can confirm it with an adviser.
Figures reflect our guides as of 26 September 2026. Programmes change their fees regularly, and interviews and planned regional rules in the Caribbean may add steps. Always confirm current figures with the official programme or a licensed adviser.

How accurate is the estimate?
It adds up the investment, government, processing and due diligence figures stated in our published guides. It is a planning figure only. Fees change often, so a licensed adviser should confirm the exact amount for your family before you commit any money.
Where do the figures come from?
Every figure comes from one of our published country guides or cost articles, and the result links to the source guide. We do not add figures that our guides do not state. Anything missing is listed under the heading for items that are not included.
Why are some costs not included in the total?
Some charges are ranges or percentages, such as legal fees or property transfer taxes, and others depend on a child's age or a relative's category. We show these separately so the total only contains fixed figures from our guides.
Is a donation refundable?
No. Donation routes such as the Caribbean national funds are non-refundable payments to the state. Property, bond and fund routes are investments that may be recovered after the holding period stated in our guides, but their value is not guaranteed.
How are children counted?
The calculator treats children as under 12. Older children can attract extra due diligence, interview or processing fees in several programmes. Where our guides state those fees we list them as not included so you can raise them with an adviser.
Can I include my parents?
Only where our guide covers adult dependants for that programme. For programmes where it does not, the field is switched off and an adviser can tell you whether parents qualify and what they cost.
Does the estimate include professional fees?
No. Legal, agent and advisory fees vary by firm and by case. Where our guides give a typical range we show it separately. Ask for a written fee quote before you appoint an adviser.
